A six months project has finally ended, I introduce you to “Mahikan” the first Wilderness Pack ever made in Italy
In my 30 years of experience as wilderness guide I have tested a decent number of backpacks evaluating pros and cons of each one of them. With the Mahikan project I have simply removed the cons… I’ve hauled all kinds of packs on camping, paddling and backpacking trips, and there’s nothing that feels as hardy as solid cotton canvas.
Too often, brands design a canvas bag with all the throwback aesthetics and none of the features you really need day in and day out, but that’s not an issue with the Mahikan pack!
The idea was to produce a sturdy and versatile pack with a vintage look. To do so I researched the best available materials made in Italy with the intent to create an high quality product at a competitive price.
The pack is made from heavy duty canvas while all leather work in collaboration with Prometheus is made of full grain leather veg tanned in Tuscany.

Zaino Bellissimo e super funzionale!!!
Bellissimo
We recently ordered two from Franco. All I can say is “wow” to the quality and design. The thought and effort that went into them is amazing. They are for Lucas and Sierra, whom Franco knows from all our time in Temagami. Lucas actually worked with Franco, helping with the dogs and tripping in the summer. I think there is a pic of him somewhere on the website. With your pack and a Temagami Canoe Company Wannigan he is set. Sierra is an CN Engineer in Hornepayne Ontario. The pack will come in handy for fishing expeditions! Franco, you’ll be happy to know your two packs will be in Northern Ontario for Christmas!
buon Natale!
